Calendar of Meetings

Calendar of Meetings

The council must hold an AGM and least three ordinary meetings a year. Meetings are usually held in the Reading Room on the first Thursday of each month. If business allows the January meeting is omitted. (Notices of meetings with the agenda are placed on the Parish Notice Board on the village green and the Parish Council website).

Before the formal business of a meeting takes place members of the public may address the meeting and question the Chairman. If any question relates to matters in previous minutes of the council at least three days notice must be given to the Clerk so that he can have them to hand for the meeting. The District and County Councillors may also give their reports to the meeting.

The agendas for the Parish Council meetings are set at the discretion of the Clerk who will consider any reasonable suggestion.

During the formal part of the meeting the council make policy decisions on matters which have been previously announced to the public in the agenda. Under the heading of ‘Planning Applications made to Braintree District Council’ members will be asked for approval and comments on individual applications. More general topics may arise under exchange of information, the more significant items for decision being added to the agenda of the following meeting.

Schedule of Dates The dates for all meetings are subject to change having regard to the business needs of the Council.  Should it be necessary to revise the Timetable of Meetings, the amended Timetable will be re-published on the Council’s website. (Please check the website/notice board for Agenda for confirmation of meeting):
